The Tighe paper was cross-checked against ISRCTN27657880. Twenty-four participants withdrew and three were excluded, leaving 206 analyzed. Registration occurred in January 2010 after a 2005 start and June 2009 completion. The registered primary outcomes, total and LDL cholesterol and insulin sensitivity, were analyzed and reported but showed no whole-grain benefit. Blood pressure was not a registered primary outcome, and no adjusted between-group confidence interval was reported.
