Hyland's Bioplasma 12 cell salts,
does it really help with Relief of fatigue and nervous tension?
research showsHyland's Bioplasma 12 cell salts receives ? with a null score because no human efficacy trial testing this product for fatigue or nervous tension was identified. Its label states that the claims are based on traditional homeopathic practice, are not accepted medical evidence, and have not been evaluated by the FDA. A 103-person trial of different, individualized homeopathic treatment for chronic fatigue syndrome was null on four of five fatigue subscales and left only weak, equivocal signals; it did not test this product. High-quality subsets of broader homeopathy meta-analyses also did not show reliable effects distinguishable from placebo, so tradition and anecdotes cannot substitute for product efficacy evidence.
ads claimMarketing can make 12 cell salts appear to restore cellular mineral balance and thereby relieve fatigue and nervous tension. Traditional terminology and long use are not randomized clinical evidence, and this preparation is not a nutritionally standardized mineral supplement for diagnosing or treating mineral deficiency.
Useful facts when choosing a product
- United States DailyMed lists Hyland's Bioplasma as a sublingual tablet containing 12 homeopathic ingredients with fatigue and nervous-tension wording. The same label states that the claims are based on traditional homeopathic practice, are not accepted medical evidence, and are not FDA evaluated.
- The label directs adults and children aged six or older to dissolve one tablet under the tongue three times daily, but national and version-specific labeling takes priority. An evidence verdict is not a dosing recommendation.
- Direct toxicity from the tablets is likely to be low, but users may be sensitive to inactive ingredients such as lactose or acacia gum, and contamination or labeling variation remains separate from efficacy.
- Persistent or severe fatigue warrants evaluation for anemia, thyroid disease, sleep disorders, infection, depression or anxiety, and medicine effects. Delay of diagnosis and appropriate treatment is the principal safety risk of relying on an unproven product.
What the research actually shows
No product-specific randomized efficacy trial was identified. The closest fatigue study, published in 2004, randomized 103 people with chronic fatigue syndrome to six months of individualized homeopathy or placebo; one general-fatigue subscale and selected physical function favored treatment, while four other fatigue subscales and overall clinical improvement were not significant. In a 2005 analysis of 110 homeopathy trials, the eight large higher-quality trials had an odds ratio of 0.88 (95% CI 0.65 to 1.19). A 2017 meta-analysis of 54 non-individualized homeopathy trials found publication bias, and the effect in its three reliable trials was not significant.
Why this is classified as ?
No human efficacy trial corresponding to the exact 12-salt fixed product and fatigue or nervous-tension claim was identified, producing ? with a null score. A fatigue trial of different individualized homeopathy is indirect and mostly null, while reliable subsets of broad homeopathy syntheses were indistinguishable from placebo. Direct product toxicity and treatment delay remain separate from efficacy.
Counterpoint. Fatigue that persists or occurs with breathlessness, chest pain, fainting, weight loss, fever, bleeding, or severe depression requires medical evaluation rather than an experiment with cell salts.
Rejudgment record. New verdict — Applied the no-human-efficacy-literature rule because no product-specific trial evaluated the fixed Hyland's Bioplasma 12-in-1 product for fatigue or nervous tension, and trials of other individualized homeopathic interventions are not directly applicable
Sub-claim grades by effect
This ingredient is marketed for several effects. A single overall grade blends strong and weak claims together, so each effect is graded separately here. The overall grade reflects the strongest disconfirming or core claim.
| Effect (sub-claim) | Grade | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Relief of fatigue and nervous tension by Hyland's Bioplasma 12 | ? | No human efficacy trial evaluating the exact product and claim was identified. |
| Product-specific activity of the homeopathic dilution and tissue-salt concept | F | High-quality syntheses found no reliable effect distinguishable from placebo, and no product-specific mechanism has been validated. |
| Traditional use and testimonials establish clinical efficacy | ? | Tradition and anecdotes are not controlled human efficacy trials and cannot establish an efficacy grade. |
