- Per 100 g, trial fillets contained fat 13.0±3.2 g, EPA 0.46±0.10 g, and DHA 0.71±0.12 g.
- The FDA monitoring-table mean for total mercury in fresh/frozen salmon is 0.022 ppm, not a direct methylmercury analysis of trial fillets.
- Farmed salmon composition can differ from wild salmon with feed and production conditions.
What the research actually shows
Seventy-six participants were allocated to cod 27, farmed salmon 27, or no fish 22. After 68 completed, protocol and post-randomization exclusions left 65 analyzed, 22/23/20. Lerøy frozen skinless boneless fillets, 150±10 g, were eaten at dinner five times weekly for eight weeks. NCT02350595 was registered after the trial ended. Lerøy donated fish, Lerøy and Skretting employees were coauthors, and author A.I.H. disclosed ownership in the whitefish trawler Granit.

The P-value-derived effect was conventionally moderate, but only postprandial surrogate outcomes were assessed in a 65-person eight-week retrospectively registered analysis, giving C with 42 points.
