- Moringa leaf products are sold as dried powder, tea, capsules, and concentrated extracts. Actual leaf content, extraction ratio, and polyphenol composition vary across products, so they are not interchangeable interventions.
- No effective dose or duration is established for weight loss, and adding a supplement cannot replace a sustained energy deficit.
- Short human trials have generally reported acceptable tolerability, but long-term and high-dose use and safety during pregnancy, lactation, or liver and kidney disease remain inadequately characterized.
- Potential effects on glucose or blood pressure raise the possibility of additive effects with related medicines. Users taking such medicines should discuss interactions with a clinician and stop if adverse symptoms occur.

Dose, age, and baseline-body-mass-index subgroups were also nonsignificant, while heterogeneity, risk of bias, and indirectness produced very-low certainty. Samarin and colleagues separately synthesized eight parallel randomized trials through July 2024 and found no weight or body-mass-index effect, with p values of 0.938 and 0.435. Both reviews included diverse healthy, diabetic or prediabetic, HIV, and hyperlipidemic populations and varied leaf powders, extracts, and related preparations, adding indirectness for a leaf-only weight-loss claim in overweight or obesity.
