Thirty resistance-trained young men were randomized 15 per group and all completed 12 weeks. After three weekly workouts they consumed three whole eggs or six protein-matched egg whites. Muscle mass appears among the primary outcomes in NCT04381390, but the trial completed on October 2, 2019 and the record was first submitted on May 1, 2020, so it was not prospectively registered. A registry sponsor label is not evidence of funding. The full original funding and conflict-of-interest statements could not be verified, so the funding source could not be established; there is also no basis to assert American Egg Board funding.
