What the research actually shows
A 2016 systematic review summarized 13 healthy-human studies but found heterogeneous designs, formulations, and inconsistent results. Cooke 2008 randomized 22 trained and 19 untrained participants to CoQ10 or placebo and assessed acute and 14-day dosing. Plasma CoQ10 increased, but there were no group interactions for muscular endurance, average power, or Wingate indices, and time to exhaustion reached only P=.06. The 2025 meta-analysis of 24 studies confirmed the gap between biochemical response and performance benefit.

The latest 24-study meta-analysis found small, outlier-sensitive performance effects with very-low-to-low certainty.
